Janice is originally from New Jersey, moved to Little Rock as a child and has lived in Pine Bluff most of her life. After receiving a BS from the Univ of AR, she now splits her time between Fayetteville, AR and Pompano Beach, FL. She has attended over 55 art workshops from California to Maine, France to Mexico, in which she painted and studied under many well-known artists such as Milford Zornes, Carol Barnes, Gerald Brommer, Maxine Masterfield, Mark Mehaffey, Myke Bailey, and most extensively with M. Douglas Walton, Ruston, LA. "Other people ask how I start a painting...where do I get my ideas? Usually, I paint out-of-doors or from photos of beauty I take from the awesome world of nature, things I see driving along the Arkansas highways or tromping around in the wooded areas of our fantastic country. Color is foremost in my mind when I paint, and If I don't see it, I often invent it to keep my work from being boring and tiresome."
